વર્ષ ૧૯૮૬ ની વાત છે નારાયણ બાપુ ના માંડવી સ્થિત આશ્રમમાં આવેલું પૌરાણિક ચપ્લેશ્ચર મહાદેવ મંદિર ના નિર્માણ તથા ગૌશાળા બનાવવા માટે નારાયણ બાપુ એ મનોમન નક્કી કર્યું. માંગી ને ખાવું એ આ બાવલીયા ના લોહીના સંસ્કાર ન હતા માટે ફાળો ઉઘરાવવા કરતા ફરી ફરી અને ભજન ના પ્રોગ્રામ કરી અને પૈસા ભેગા કરવાનું શરૂ કર્યું,નારાયણ બાપુ ના ભજન હોય એટલે હકડે ઠાઠ મેદની હોય એ નક્કી. સતત ૨૧ દિવસ સુધી દિવસે મુસાફરી અને રાત્રે ભજન ના કાર્યક્રમ કર્યા, ફરતા ફરતા ભાવનગર આવ્યું,નારાયણ બાપુને મોરારી બાપુની રામકથા માં મુખ્ય યજમાન તરીકે સંત શિરોમણી મસ્તરામ બાપુ ને રાખવા હતા,આપને મસ્તરામ બાપુનો થોડો પરિચય આપી દઉં, સંત શ્રી મસ્તરાબાપુ (ચિત્રા) ગોહિલવાડ ભાવનગર ..... આ ચિત્ર પર થી બધા ને સ્પષ્ટ નહી થાય કે આ સૂતેલી અવસ્થા માં સાધુ કોણ છે. કોણ છે.

સાધુ ની વ્યાખ્યામાં એ સમયે અવ્વલ કહેવાતા મસ્તરામ બાપુ પોતાના સ્થાન પર અડગ આશરે ૩૫ -૪૦ વર્ષ થી પણ વધારે સમયથી બેઠા હતા, ન ખાવું ન પીવું ન કોઈ કુદરતી હાજતે જવું કોઈ શરીર ના બંધન વગર બાપુ એક જ જગ્યાએ બેઠા રહેતા. આ હતી મારા ભારત વર્ષના સાધુ સંતો ની તાકાત,ગોહિલવાડ માં આવેલી હોનારતમાં મસ્તરામ બાપુ અને તે જે બાવળ નીચે બેસતા એ બાવળ નું તણખલું પણ હાલ્યું ન હતું ત્યાર બાદ ભાવનગર ના લોકો મસ્તરામ બાપુ ને ઓળખતા થયાં. અખંડ મૌન ધારણ કરનાર મસ્તરામ બાપુને બજરંગદાસ બાપા પણ માનતા હતા. ઈસ 1986 માં ભાવનગર અને તેની આસપાસના ગામોમાંથી જે શ્રદ્ધાળુઓ બજરંગદાસ બાપુ ના આશીર્વાદ લેવા બગદાણા પહોંચતા તે સૌ લોકોને બજરંગદાસ બાપા ઠપકો આપતા અને ખીજાતા… બાપુ ના શબ્દોમાં વાત કરું તો બજરંગદાસ બાપુ ના ઠપકા ના શબ્દો કંઈક આવા હતા:- “અરે મૂર્ખા ઓ અહીં મારા આશીર્વાદ લેવા શું દોડી આવો છો તમારા ભાવનગરમાં મારાથી મોટો સંત ફકીર બેઠો છે એના પગમાં પડો તમારે જો પગે જ લાગવું હોય તો તમારા ત્યાંના સંત શ્રી મસ્તરામ બાપુ ના પગમાં પડો” પણ નારાયણ સ્વામી તો નારાયણ સ્વામી હતા… તેઓ મસ્તરામ બાપુ ના પરમ તત્વને પારકી ચૂકેલા હતા તેનો પુરાવો અહીં હું તમને આપુ છું….. હવે મૂળ વાત પર પાછા ફરીએ નારાયણ સ્વામીને કોઈક રામકથામાં ભજન ગાવા માટે એક શેઠ દ્વારા ૨.૫૦ લાખ ના દાન ની ઓફર કરવામાં આવી હતી…. નારાયણ બાપુએ સપ્તાહમાં ભજન ગાવા ના એવી વાત મૂકવામાં આવી હતી... અને શેઠે એક શરત રાખી કે કથાનો મુખ્ય યજમાન હું બનીશ…પણ નારાયણ બાપુએ નક્કી કર્યું કે યજમાન તો મસ્તરામ બાપુ જ બનશે….. . કારણકે હું ભજનો સંતો માટે જ ગાઉ છું મારા મુખ્ય યજમાન સંતો હતા... છે... અને હંમેશા સંતો જ રહેશે… મસ્તરામ બાપુ પાસે જઈ અને નારાયણ સ્વામીએ કહ્યું કે રામ કથા નું આયોજન કર્યું છે અને મુખ્ય યજમાન તમને બનાવવાના છે.... પરંતુ મસ્તરામ બાપુ કોઈ દિવસ બોલતા નહીં,એટલે મસ્તરામ બાપુ એ મોઢું હલાવીને નારાયણ સ્વામી ને યજમાનપદ સ્વિકારવાની થોડુક માથું હલાવી ના પાડી….મસ્તરામ બાપુ નો આવો ઈશારામાં અપાયેલો ઉત્તર નારાયણ સ્વામી સમજી ન શક્યા… માટે ત્યાં બેસેલા મસ્તરામ બાપુના એક સેવકે કહ્યું :- “બાપુ પોતાના સ્થાન પરથી બેઠા થતાં જ નથી માટે તે નહિ આવી શકે.” પણ નારાયણ તો નારાયણ હતા તેમણે કહ્યું કે કઈ વાંધો નહિ… નારાયણ બાપુએ પોતાની પેટી મંગાવી અને મસ્તરામ બાપુ સામે બેસી ૫ ભજન ગાયા…. ભજન સંભાળતા સંભાળતા મસ્તરામ બાપુની આંખમાં થી આંસુઓ ની ધારા વહેવા માંડી…. જેવા નારાયણ સ્વામી ના પાંચ ભજન પૂર્ણ થયા એટલે પોતાના સેવક ને મસ્તરામ બાપુએ ઈશારો કર્યો અને પોતાની પાસે બોલાવ્યો… મસ્તરામ બાપુ એ સેવકને ઇશારાથી કોઈક વાત કરી…. સેવક દોડીને એના ઘરે ગયો અને પોતાના ઘરેથી મસ્તરામ બાપુ નો ફોટો લઈ આવ્યો અને નારાયણ સ્વામીના હાથમાં આપ્યો… અને સેવક એ કહ્યું:- “ મસ્તરામ બાપુ હલનચલન કરી શકે તેમ નથી એટલે તેઓએ તમને યજમાનપદ સ્વિકારવાની ના પાડી છે… તમે દુઃખ નહિ લગાડશો મસ્તરામ બાપુ ના ફોટો લઈ જાવ અને તમારી રામકથામાં મુખ્ય યજમાન ના પદ પર આ ફોટો રાખજો મસ્તરામ બાપુ ત્યાં હાજર હાજર રહેશે” નારાયણ બાપુ ને જે જોઈતું હતું તે મળી ગયું, ફોટો લઈ અને નારાયણ નિકળી ગયા પોતાની ભજન સફર પર. ડિસેમ્બર ૧૯૮૬ માં મોરારી બાપુની રામ કથા નું આયોજન થયું,મુખ્ય યજમાન તરીકે મસ્તરામ બાપુનો ફોટો, દિવસે કથા અને રાત્રે ભજન રોજ આશરે ૩૦ થી ૪૦ હજાર માણસ જમતાં અને કથા નો લાભ લેતા,આ છે મારા દેશ ના સાધુ સંતો… આવી તો અનેક કથાઓ થઈ અને અનેક ભજન મંડળીઓ માં ભજનો પણ થયા… નારાયણ સ્વામિની ગૌશાળા તો બનીને જ રહી...

मस्तराम बापू, जिन्हें उस समय एक साधु की परिभाषा में अवल कहा जाता था, 35 -40 वर्षों से अधिक समय तक अपने स्थान पर दृढ़ता से बैठे रहे। न खाना, न पीना, न किसी प्राकृतिक जरूरत के लिए जाना, बापू बिना शरीर के बंधन के एक जगह बैठे थे। यह गोहिलवाड़ में आई आपदा में मेरे भारत साधु संत, मस्तराम बापू की ताकत थी और जिस एकांत में वह बैठे थे, वह भी चमक नहीं रहा था। इसके बाद भावनगर के लोगों को मस्तराम बापू के बारे में पता चला। बजरंगदास बापा भी मस्तराम बापू को अखंड मौन का व्यक्ति मानते थे। 1986 में बजरंगदास बापू का आशीर्वाद लेने के लिए भावनगर और आसपास के गाँवों के सभी भक्त, जो बजरंगदास बापू का आशीर्वाद लेने के लिए बगदाना पहुँचे थे, नाराज थे और नाराज थे। आप आशीर्वाद पाने के लिए क्यों भाग रहे हैं? आपके भावनगर में एक संत फकीर हैं। मुझसे बड़ा है। संत के चरणों में गिरो। लेकिन नारायण स्वामी नारायण स्वामी थे, यहाँ मैं आपको इस बात का प्रमाण देता हूं कि उन्होंने मस्तराम बापू के सर्वोच्च तत्व में महारत हासिल की थी। अब मूल बातें, नारायण स्वामी को कुछ सेठों द्वारा कुछ रामकथा में भजन गाने के लिए 2.50 लाख रुपये की पेशकश की गई थी। कहा गया कि नारायण बापू को सप्ताह के दौरान भजन नहीं गाना चाहिए ... और सेठ ने एक शर्त रखी कि मैं कहानी का मुख्य मेजबान बनूंगा ... लेकिन नारायण बापू ने फैसला किया कि मेजबान मस्तराम बापू होगा ... क्योंकि मैं केवल संतों के लिए भजन गाता हूं, मेरे मुख्य यजमान संत थे ... है ... और हमेशा संत रहेंगे मस्तराम बापू और नारायण स्वामी के पास जाते हुए कहा कि राम कथा की योजना बनाई है और मुख्य यजमान आपको बनाना है .... लेकिन मस्तराम बापू कभी नहीं बोलते, इसलिए मस्तराम बापू ने नारायण स्वामी को यजमान के रूप में स्वीकार करने के लिए अपना सिर नहीं हिलाया। स्वामी नारायण इस इशारे में मस्तराम बापू द्वारा दिए गए उत्तर को नहीं समझ सके ... इसलिए मस्तराम बापू के एक सेवक जो वहाँ बैठे थे, ने कहा: लेकिन नारायण नारायण थे। उन्होंने कहा कि इससे कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ता। नारायण बापू ने अपना डिब्बा माँगा और मस्तराम बापू के सामने बैठकर 'भजन' गाया। भजनों को संभालते हुए मस्तराम बापू की आंखों से आंसू बहने लगे। जैसे ही नारायण स्वामी के पाँच भजन पूरे हुए, मस्तराम बापू ने अपने नौकर को इशारा किया और उसे अपने पास बुलाया। नौकर दौड़ता हुआ अपने घर पहुंचा और अपने घर से मस्तराम बापू की फोटो लेकर आया और उसे नारायण स्वामी को सौंप दिया ... और नौकर ने कहा: - "मस्तराम बापू आगे नहीं बढ़ सकते, इसलिए उन्होंने तुम्हें मेजबान के रूप में स्वीकार करने से मना कर दिया है और एक फोटो ले लो और इसे रखो। आपके रामकथा में मुख्य यजमान के रूप में फोटो। मस्तराम बापू वहां मौजूद रहेंगे ” नारायण बापू ने जो चाहा, वह लिया और फ़ोटो लिया और नारायण अपनी भजन यात्रा पर निकल पड़े। मोरारी बापू की राम कथा का आयोजन 15 दिसंबर को किया गया था, मस्तराम बापू की तस्वीर मुख्य यजमान के रूप में, दिन में कथा और रात में भजन के साथ लगभग 60 से 70 हजार लोग भोजन करते हैं और कथा का लाभ उठाते हैं, ये मेरे देश के साधु हैं। कई कथाएं हुए और कई भजन मंडलियों में भजन भी हुए । नारायण स्वामी की गौशाला बनी ...
